The Poona Club Ltd. History

Established over a century ago, The Poona Club Ltd stands among the oldest and most prestigious clubs in India — a timeless institution deeply woven into the cultural and social fabric of Pune. Built on a legacy of excellence, refinement, and community spirit, the Club has evolved gracefully through generations while preserving the heritage and traditions that define its distinguished identity.

The illustrious list of founder patrons of The Poona Club Ltd included some of the most respected and influential personalities of their time, the Aga Khan, Sir Dorab Tata, Sir Cusrow Wadia, Sir Victor Sassoon, The Maharajas of Jodhpur and Rajpipla, The Gaikwad of Baroda, The Nawab of Junagadh. The club was registered with the Registrar of Companies on 31st August 1931 and presently has over 6000 Members in various categories.

The Poona Club Ltd spans three prime locations in the heart of Pune. The Main Club spread across 13.5 acres. Swimming Pool & Squash Complex across 2.5 acres. The 18-Hole Golf Course spanning nearly 96 acres. Together, these spaces create a comprehensive lifestyle destination that blends recreation, heritage & hospitality.
